Oxygen Communications

We are thrilled to announce our newest addition to the Ethical Agency Alliance: Oxygen Communications

A studio that does things differently. They’re not just a creative studio, they’re a partner in building meaningful, values-driven work. Originally, the internal comms team at a global leadership consultancy focused on mission-led organisations, their whole team transitioned to Oxygen Communications Ltd when it became independent in January 2025. Now, as part of the Oxygen family, they get to continue what we do best: crafting brands, websites, and reports that are as strategic as they are soulful. Oxygen doesn’t just design, they co-create with care, inclusivity, and purpose at the core.

What does creativity for good look like to you?

For me, creativity for good means using the power of ideas, inclusive storytelling and accessible design practices to inspire positive change. This means creating campaigns and brand identities that not only capture attention, but also spark meaningful conversations, shift perspectives, and drive action—whether it's raising awareness for a cause or mobilising communities. It's about creating content that resonates emotionally, while making a real impact in the world around us.

How do you drive change in your work?

Driving change starts with listening—really understanding the brands we work with. We create brand identities & websites that are strategic and purposeful, and also provide open-source guides to help organisations understand how they can improve the sustainability & accessibility of their brand. We look for opportunities to challenge assumptions, bring fresh perspectives, and turn bold ideas into meaningful action. Change isn’t just the end goal—it’s embedded throughout the creative process.

What are some examples of creativity being used to drive climate action that inspire you?

We have just launched a campaign website for Clean Creatives called 'Sand from Cannes', which is a cheeky campaign targeting creatives whose bosses are in Cannes, encouraging them to sign the Clean Creatives pledge and never work with fossil fuel organisations.

The advertising world is so influential and encouraging the mastermind creatives that work within it to never work with fossil fuel companies is a no brainer to me, which is why I am a proud ambassador for them.

When and how did you have the 'aha'-moment to transition your agency to focus on sustainability?

There wasn't really an aha-moment as we have always had sustainability, accessibility and inclusion carried through all the work we do at Oxygen and have only ever worked with mission-driven organisations. However I will say since becoming independent at the start of this year, we have really been driving the message of the importance of having sustainable websites that are carbon-light and have been slightly surprised at the lack of knowledge around this topic.

To that end, we are doing a piece of research into this area at the moment to look at what the barriers are for organisations having a sustainably developed website and will be producing a report in Sep on our findings and recommendations to help organisations in this area.

What is your biggest challenge as an Ethical Agency?

Awareness of that website sustainability issue is a challenge, to get it on everyone's radar and also as a small, agile team who love working with smaller charities to really help their impact, with that there often comes budget constraints.

Why did you join our Ethical Agency Alliance?

I consider us as an individuals to be very ethical in the choices we make both at home and at work, and as a collective we passionately believe in using the skills we have through Oxygen to support mission-driven organisations in their branding and digital needs and joining the Alliance compounds all the work we do. I am also looking forward to learning from other agencies within the alliance and growing our networks and resources.

What do you believe needs to change for the creative industry to be a real force for good?

Accountability! We have loud, powerful voices within the creative industry so lets use them! By taking stands and sharing journeys - its not about being perfect - and encouraging others to do the same.
